Is summer ever going to get going and stay going? It’s like a rollercoaster up here in the
mountains. Blisteringly (is that a
word?) hot one day followed by storms the next.
Steve was doing an installation yesterday (July 11th)
of a 6KW Fireview further up our mountains, and the lovely lady client said
that she wouldn’t be lighting it until she needed it, usually September. Goodness me what a few hundred metres of
altitude makes! We are at 550 metres and in a normal year our 9KW Fireview wouldn’t
be lit until end of October, and our central heating (wood burning cooker)
wouldn’t be lit until late November.
(Hardy souls that we are – or is it just mean?) The point is, that if you too are living in a
colder area of France, and need a wood burner then now really is the time to
think about buying one before the panic season starts. September through to Christmas is really our
busiest time and it might be a good idea to get in first or face having a long
wait. Our factory has recently doubled its
capacity, but the stoves are hand finished to order, so there is always a wait
albeit, not so long now we hope.
Here’s the bad news...
...Woodwarm UK announced a 3% increase in all stoves from this
month. The first since 2013, so I
suppose we’ve done well.
The good
news…
… is that Steve and I have decided that because of this we
will keep a 10% discount running on all the stoves for the foreseeable future
for everyone that settles their invoice within 7 days of delivery. Small comfort we know, but this could mean a
big saving for those buying big stoves/stoves with boilers.
Don’t forget
…
…at the very least to have your chimney swept before the
next season, even if you own one of our stoves, where deposits are generally
burned off, you still have to have the chimneys swept to comply with your house
insurance. Insurance companies in
France are like those the world over, they will get out of paying in any way
that they can.
If you need…
… any carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, or
moisture detectors, please get in touch as we have a small stock here.
And finally…
… as always, if you need any advice or want to buy one of
our great stoves, please get in touch, phone, email or letter, we are always
happy to help even if you choose to go elsewhere, it’s important to us that you
get what YOU want.
