British Wood Burning Stoves and Brexit

We have been waiting to hear from Woodwarm UK what will be happening as from the end of this year.   Yesterday we got the news.

Until the 31st December all Woodwarm  stoves will carry the European CE approval plate and therefore still able to be used in France.   (The recent Flamme Verte 7 regulation is less complicated and less concerning than certain publications have published).

After 31st December, if a trade deal is not made, then all UK stoves will carry a UK compliant plate only, unless manufacturers are able to get every single stove tested in the EU again.   This costs in the region of £8K per model of stove.    As there are up to 90 variations of our stoves this is uneconomic.

Until the end of the year, we are legally able to import Woodwarm Stoves with the CE approval plate for use in French properties.

Woodwarm have assured us that any orders received before the end of November/start of December will be honoured and delivered into France.  After that, we have to wait and see what happens.

Therefore if you are considering a Woodwarm Stove for your property, please get in touch with us bearing in mind it is peak supply season.
